The cuties from Würzburg are back. One year after the release of their astonishing Somnolence EP and a year of shows and hangouts the screamy emo-math three piece return with this two-song output. Only this time things are changing. The songs are as versatile as ever, a wonderful blend of up- and down-tempo parts, heart wrenching harmonies and joyful guitar lines, a rollercoaster of emotions.

To hide the Heart from the Head opens the EP in a rather dramatic fashion, speaking of acceptance that some people will have to go separate ways sometimes, of course perfectly accentuated by the music. But the band won’t leave you with this hole in your heart.

I won't waste your time. It will be better to go seperate ways.

Get out of the blind Spot! ties in with the first song and lifts you out of the (blind) spot you were put in at the beginning of this record. The upbeat closing song (figuratively) reaches for your hand, talking about the way we sometimes run into the wrong direction, yet eventually getting up again, dusting ourselves off and trying to head a new direction.

Playing memories of the past on repeat is simply a waste of time, cause you can't change it anymore.

Out of context the lyrics deal with the obstacles the lives of our generation are bristled with, parting with someone we loves and losing our way only to try and find it again. Within the context of Heinzel’s parting with the band in order to try and chase happiness away from Würzburg (and maybe the parting of Shivery Productions) this Extended Play is added a very different and new perspective.

From now on I'm ignoring all these speed bumps while planning and embracing my future.
