Please, give us a short introduction of yourselves and the band you play in.

Jojo (drums): Lentic Waters

Spence (bass): The Gentle Art Of Chokin

Nils (guitar)

Lars (guitar): Republic Of Dreams; Aureole of Ash

Bjørn (vocals)

Let’s talk about your recently released EP called the new innocence. Lyrically as well as musically, it pretty much felt like a conceptional reflection of the current, prevailing apocalyptic mood. What influenced you to write those six songs?

B: First of all I must say that the songs don’t have an underlying lyrical concept. They are just an expression of my disgust for some aspects of the world around me. General influences for me are literature, philosophy and mythology, but I scarcely get influenced by certain events, so I wouldn’t call it a reflection of the current ‘apocalyptic’ mood. I often have the ideas for the lyrics out of nothing and then it is usually just one word or a phrase around which I try to build the lyrics.

L: Musically it is actually reflecting my personal mood most of the time and since I have never really learned to play an instrument most of the stuff I am coming up with translates right from my feelings and moods. I am and always have been driven by a lot of anger and frustration... I'm also obviously trying to rip off some of my favorite bands from the 90s.

Please give our readers and us a brief description of the songs and what they are about.

-loud speaker- I think the lyrics are pretty much self-explanatory. A song about dogmas and demagogues.

-la nausée- A song about Sartre (who would have guessed?) and the meaninglessness of life.

-ulcer- praises the human race for its self-destructive characteristics.

-obscuritas aeterna- Billions of people are bound to mythological scriptures, which blindfold them on their way to knowledge and self-awareness.

-metropolis- the city as Moloch

-the war is over- is about the acceptance of the inevitability of ones death and comes to the conclusion that ‘death is not the ultimate defeat’.

With 2016 slowly coming to an end, what are your favorite records so far? Any recommendations?
